Lanae Rivers-Woods,
Business and Management Consultant
Lanae co-founded Power of Basics because of her interest in applying business constructs to industries people don’t see as business. For Lanae, business is universal - no matter how difficult your product or service, there are always ways to do better business by addressing the basics. With a degree in sociology from Lipscomb University, Lanae sees business as an opportunity to care for people, helping them address the hard decisions they need to make in order to fulfill their creative potential. Lanae is a co-founder of the La Familia Gallery cooperative and the developer of Scene in Seattle, a news feed that tracks the latest in the Seattle art world. Between projects, Lanae creates visual art and is writing the second part of her Chasing Tales trilogy.

Rebeqa Rivers,
Marketing / Systems Consultant
Rebeqa co-founded Power of Basics because of her passion for “seeing people thrive from the ground up,” and her belief that business problems must be addressed by empowering the people who make up a business. A graduate of Wheaton College’s Conservatory of Music, Rebeqa has combined her passion for the arts, business, and people by co-founding La Familia Gallery (a cooperative-based art gallery) and Latitude x Longitude, her cabaret-rock band. Through these projects, Rebeqa has acquired first-hand knowledge of sub-culture marketing and a passion for building small business systems that keep business organized and deliver actionable information in the midst of a creative and rapidly changing environment.
